Of nine houses on Kowloon Marine Lot 31 which remained at the old level, 3 were pulled down in February 1910 as the result of a fire, and the remaining 6 have been condemned as dangerous

There are now only 6 houses on Kowloon Marine Lot 29 which remain at the old level about 4 feet lower than the new level of Reclamation Street: the foot path (or side walk) being at the same level as the houses.
The inconvenience occasioned by this is not great, and it will certainly be necessary to rebuild these 6 old houses very shortly, when they will come into line with the newly built houses adjoining.

When it was decided to construct the Harbour of Refuge opposite Yaumati and Mong Kok Tsui the position of these lots was as follows: -
Plans for raising the roadway of Reclamation Street to the new level necessitated by the general reclamation of the Kowlcon foreshore had been prepared.
A large number of the houses on the lots were either re- built to the new level or in process of rebuilding.
No objection had been raised to the raising of the level of the Street and no claims had been made in respect thereof.
The direct access from the front of the lots to the sea had been gradually obstructed by the depositing of surplus material (as above stated), and the area obtained by these means had been let by the Government on temporary permits to building contrac- tors and others for storage purposes.
